TWO WORKSHOPS
11 - 12.30pm: The Y1Feedback Project - Findings So Far & Implications for Practice
The Y1Feedback Project (Supporting Transition: Enhancing Feedback in First Year Using Digital Technologies) is a collaborative project involving Maynooth University, Athlone Institute of Technology, Dublin City University, and Dundalk Institute of Technology and is funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement for Teaching and Learning. This interactive workshop will begin with a short presentation to provide an overview of the Y1Feedback project and share findings from their work so far. The presentation will be followed by a facilitated group discussion around and peer feedback on technology enabled feedback approaches, features of effective feedback for first year, and how we as academic developer can act on findings so far.
The workshop will be facilitated by some of the Y1Feedback team including Lisa O’Regan, Project Lead Maynooth University, Morag Munro, Maynooth University, Moira Maguire, and Gerry Gallagher Dundalk Institute of Technology, and Geraldine McDermott Athlone Institute of Technology.
12.30 - 1.00 pm: Light Lunch & Networking
1 - 2.30 pm: Professional Development Approach
This session will explore the potential for EDIN members to pilot the Professional Development approach as outlined in current documents. In particular the conversation will seek to understand each domain and phase in terms of implementation and evidence. Special focus will be given to implementation issues pertaining to the approach, and resources or supports necessary to advance same.
Dr. Geraldine O'Neill from the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education will facilitate this session.
